That's really good advice, but the way I read it the original poster
was planning to disable parts of his own program and not SVR. I
believe he just wants a way to detect if SVR is enabled.
In the case that the parts of his program that are affected are too
time consuming to rework or there is simply no other way to do it his
query and the way he seems to want to handle it make sense.

You should not interfere with the user's choice. He or she may have
a reason to use Secure Virtual Ram so you should warn the user (in
the read me file, perhaps) that your application does not work
properly when SVR is running and then the user will decide if it
worth disabling SVR, not you.

Not sure which list this really belongs on, however what im
trying to
do is detect if a system has Secure Virtual Ram enabled as it causes
some problems with parts of my program and i want to disable them.
So any ideas on how to detect if the user has enable the secure
virtual memory option in the security pref pane
PS. I assume its stored in a plist somewhere...
