Yes,
I did select my custom class to represent this view.
If I do not instantiate this class then drawRect is not being called
even upon window resize.

Hello,
Are you setting the Custom View's custom class (In the IB inspector
pallete) to your view class? You don't instantiate the view, you
just add the class, and set the custom class to point to it.

Greetings!
In my custom view I have a few straight lines, who's start and end
points being set as instance variables within the view's class.
When the user causes the values for these variables to change I
need to update the view.
All of my drawing routines are in the drawRec.
I have a separate method within this custom view class that
changes the values for the variables.
After changing the values I call [self setNeedsDisplay:YES]
In my run log I can see that all the relevant methods get
triggered as they should.
However, the view does not redraw.
What could be wrong?
