disable mouse clicks and keyboard shortcuts in nsmovieview

I have an nsmovieview that i have a contantly looping, preset movie in, and i want to disable all mouse and keyboard interaction with the movie. For example, click and double-click to play/pause or hitting the spacebar to play/pause.

I'm reading this question to myself and laughing at how stupid it sounds, but I've tried a couple different ways of doing this and it just isn't working. Plus, this is the first project i've done in years that i'm actually building the interface in interface builder, so i'm thinking maybe i have the nib set up wrong or something.

Any ideas?

- Chase
