i've seen this question asked a lot on the list. i finally, just a few
minutes ago, released the solution that i put together to this here:

it's called the WAPopUpButtonMediator. feel free to check it out, i
think it's exactly what your looking for. the short answer to your
question though is that it's not exactly easy to do as it should be.
