There was a Late Night Cocoa podcast that talked about web services. It's episode #3. You can find it on iTunes or here:

http://latenightcocoa.com/node/20

However, the conclusion was that the tools in Cocoa to do web services are severely lacking compared to other platforms, like .Net or Java.

Good luck!

Dear List,

after a lot of research, i know that this topic has been discussed quite a few times,
but still i have no clue whats the actual way to go.

i have to talk to a webserver (undecided so far if xml-rpc or soap) from a cocoa application
my goals are:

- high level (no hardcore coding)
- future proof for upcoming os version (so using supported frameworks)

but when stumbling all the mailinglist post and the developer documentation
all i am able to find is obscure and outdated java / carbon / applescript and so on stuff.

is there really no handy possibility to talk to webservices using cocoa?

sample code & tutorials greatly apreciated!

best,

Joeles
