There is a nasty problem with Apple's hosting provider's download
server pool; at random times they return an empty packet in the
stream (I'm assuming), and the download completes prematurely. This
has been inconveniencing me for the past year's worth of seed
downloads. In one case I had 12 failed downloads in a row, and DTS
ended up mailing me a hard copy. <rdar://problems/5370201>
Closed?!! Well, it just happened again trying to download 9A581 today.
Some time ago I did discover a workaround: Using Safari for the
download, after approximately 50% download completion, click the
small X icon to pause the download, wait a few seconds, then click it
again to resume. After doing this, it seems to complete reliably.
