All UI-elements should be initialized by the time call reaches - (void)awakeFromNib. This is ensured to happen on Mac OS X 10.4.

That's what I though.

You might wanna a file a bug for this on Apple.

Maybe someone else has some wise words? If we consider it a bug I am happy submit a bug report.
