Thanks Ashley. I've had a bit of a look at that code and it looks
pretty useful but I ADD'd off to another part of the app so I'll come
back to it soon :D I'll file the bug too.

I saw someone ask this on a list last year and the answer was "no,
but I've got a sample I can send you" - does anyone have anything
they're willing to share? I remember seeing in the "companion
guides" section of the NSRuleEditor class reference a reference to
a guide that sounded actually relevant but it wasn't actually
linked, and has disappeared since updating my documentation. Bummer.

It shows how to use a NIB to create your views for use within an
NSRuleEditor. I *believe* it is the mysterious missing sample code.
Whether it is or it isn't, please file a bug requesting sample code
for NSRuleEditor.
