Finding the NSCollectionViewItem being represented from the view

  • Subject: Finding the NSCollectionViewItem being represented from the view

I'm using an NSCollectionViewItem to represent a core data model in an NSCollectionView and need to find out wether or not the NSCollectionViewItem is selected through a view embedded in the view which is connected to the view outlet of the NSCollectionViewItem. I've tried connecting an outlet in interface builder with no luck. Any suggestions as to how I can accomplish this?
