So the ancient-but-elegant notion of a creator code has been thrown out, to be replaced by the use of the ancient-but-lame resource fork, as well as ancient-and-fragile hardcoded paths? :-P

PS: The Apple folks are welcome to tell us this is off-topic, if they can tell us where else to discuss it, instead of just wishing the problem away. I ran out of patience with that sometime during the interminable Fucking NDA phase of the iPhone developer experience.
