NSToolbar disabled after ending sheet

Hello,
I was testing an app on a G4 10.5.8 machine that I had been developing under 10.6. I noticed a funny bug that I can't seem to figure out. I have a window, an NSPanel with a toolbar, that serves as my preferences window. The appearance and dismissal of a sheet seems to cause all of the toolbar items to become disable; they get grayed out and don't accept clicks. Everything else continues working in the window and this problem does not manifest on Snow Leopard.
Has anyone run across this problem before?
Thanks,
Philip White
