Are you talking about iOS or Mac?
On iOS the sandbox *is* the app. On Mac it is not, so the results will be very different on the two platforms. In general, I'm talking about Mac. I've toyed with iOS development but haven't done anything in anger.
On Mac, an app's sandbox lives at ~/Library/Containers/<bundle id>/...
