I assume you’re doing this to apply some kind of fancy effects to the image, so your window acts like a filter?

Because otherwise, if all you need to do is show some of the space behind the window, you can do that really easily by “punching holes in it” by setting the alpha to be transparent or translucent wherever you want. You just need to draw transparent pixels to the window using the Copy compositing mode.
