I've run into a problem in using PS 5.5 and PS 6 together. If I create

get a profile mismatch notice in PS 5.5.

Anyone know why?

Perhaps the naming of the profiles is a little different between the
applications? I could be wrong but I think Photoshop goes by the
internal ASCII name of the profile.

The problem is this: I create an image in PS 6 in the ColorMatch RGB
space then open it in PS 5.5 (with ColorMatch RGB set as my working
space) and I get a profile mismatch warning.

In both cases I am using the ColorMatch space from PhotoShop, it's just
between PS 6 and PS 5.5 that's the only difference that I can see.

The implementation of ColorMatch RGB in 5.x was slightly off -- not by any stretch of the imagination enough to be a serious problem, but not quite the Radius spec. The discrepancy was fixed in 6.0, but the ColorMatch RGB in 6 and the ColorMatch RGB in 5.5 are two different profiles.

I worked around this by saving out the 5.x ColorMatch profile as ColorMatch 5.5 RGB...
