You don't seem to mention anywhere what *size* your film is, or if its negs
ar chromes. For larger chromes, and even larger negs, you could get the type
of resolution you need from a scanner in (or near) this price range; for 35
mm it would require a special 35mm scanner, as the flatbeds would lack the
resolution, for 4x5 it would be a toss up based on your maximum output size,
and expectations. The most image data for the money would be one of the Epson
1600 dpi scanners, you'd need to compare the Expression 1600 with the
Perfection 1640 to see which fit your needs and budget...
