We have been working with a Beta version of the Praxisoft Mach1 Rip and
wanted to share some comments. We have been in the prepress and output
business for going on 17 years as a service bureau for both traditional film
output and digital large format output starting with a Xerox electrostatic
plotter and primitive rip (this goes way back). My point being that we have
experienced alot of vendors, products, tech support and transitions. Our
first encounter with the Praxisoft Rip actually came from this list. Based
on their experience and reputation in color management we decided to give
them a try. At first were we disappointed with the documentation and
frustrated with the lack of information accompanying the software.
BUT I was really impressed when the president of the company called and
assured me they would work with us until things were right. And so they did.
The tech support has been outstanding and they have not only addressed each
of our issues but this has happened promptly and with expertise. I can't say
that has been true with many other vendors over the years. And the best
part? The output has been fabulous! The best I have seen yet in this crazy
world of Rips and Color Management! For the first time in many years I am
excited about a new product. It feels good.
