I run a smallish image base in FileMaker, which is very handy because it
lets me tie in work/projects/images directly with my client database (one
good reason for using FM). Anyway, I found that FileMaker is virtually
unworkable with Tiffs, but is acceptably rapid with JPEGs, even a maximum
quality JPEG.

As for import scripting. I'd like one too. I can do the FileMaker end, but
not the Applescript end and this is the way to go. FileMaker has a very
tight integration with Applescript and if you either know how to code
Applescript of can commission a script, then it should be very simple to
automate the process of creating new records with images in them, from say a
folder with a Folder Action attached for example.
