just FYI I have had a long-standing issue with some Mitsubishi Diamondtrons,
including the new flat-screens, that are prone to develop vertical streaking
where the mask touches the glass--you need to smack the monitor at the top,
not too hard, maybe once a day to unstick the mask from the glass (unsure if
that is indeed the problem but it's definitely mask-related).

two years after I first saw this happen on an Apple display, new
Mitsubishi-branded flat 21" Diamondtrons are exhibiting the same problem and
it's disappointing that it hasn't been remedied.

granted it is not a disabling defect, but it is still annoying.

haven't seen a similar issue with Trinitrons.
