Besides the other helpful suggestions given, make sure you disable
the HotSync for the Palm software. If it's on, it stops the
Spectrocam software from recognizing the device. Go to the Palm menu
at the top right corner of our monitor and select HotSync>Setup. Then
click "disable." You can enable it again when you want to sync to
your Palm. Of course if you don't have a Palm then just disable all
Palm extensions. Apple now assumes everyone has a Palm!
