SilverFast HDR

Does anyone have any experience with SilverFast HDR? I'm using a
Leafscan45 and would be interested in using it on 48bit captures (since
there is no native SilverFast support for this scanner). Is it possible to
apply a scanner profile to the 48bit capture using SilverFast HDR while
converting the file to 8bit?
