Just wrote a short review of Pshop6 for a local mag, and came away
wondering at the massive number of modal dialogs and checkboxes and
whatnots.
One thing I couldn't figure out was why beta 148 displays the following
behaviour:
a. Set the RGB to CIELab to production CMYK transform in Color Settings
(Apple CMM, Perceptual).
b. Set the production CMYK to CIELab (to monitor RGB?) transform in View ->
Proof Setup to Paper White and then the intent popup doesn't gray out or
auto reset to Absolute Colorimetric, but I think was default set to
Perceptual.
The Intent in Proof Setup always defaults to the profile default
rendering intent of the destination space set in Proof Setup. It
controls the conversion from source space to simulation space.
Rendering intent from the simulation space to the screen is
controlled by the Ink Black/Paper White checkboxes.
Ink Black/Paper White off = relative colorimetric +BPC
Ink Black on = relative colorimetric without BPC
Paper White = Absolute colorimetric.
Does that help?
