The response from the bad Roland demo was the files were in cmyk.

Is there anyway I can work in cmyk and have a good quality large format
inkjet output?

Doesn't cmyk to cmyk color management work on rips like Postershop?

What would be a good rip to use in this case?

The HP I saw printing was working in cmyk and it was making very nice
output.
