The reverse is true. A polarizing filter is *only* used when profiling wet
prints or prints on rough surfaces, because a polarizing filter makes
either of these two surface types work *as if* they were glossy.

Look up www.iccabc.com abcB which describes the issues behind both optical
brightener and surfaces that require a polarizing filter.
