Working in "Color Managed CMYK" in Photoshop

Is there a way to color correct CMYK images in Photoshop using a "color
managed" workflow? i.e. not edit "by the numbers" ` la Dan Margulis? By
seting up a Working CMYK Space? Why I ask is that, in RGB, I find it so much
more intuitive to "color correct" an image, set the white point, etc... and
then convert to CMYK at the end. Whereas in CMYK, even with good two way LUT
(atoB or BtoA type of ICC profile tables), is is conceivable to convert to
Lab, then to some Working RGB Space, get the image to look right and then,
finally, to convert everything to CMYK?
