OS 9 and CS 3.x has a new "feature" that when you select a profile in
one monitor window, it becomes unavailable in any others. It seems
like a good idea but is one of those interface inconsistencies that I
deplore. They should grey it out in the other window or something
else. Appearing and disappearing profiles does not, IMHO simplify
life.
Jumping off the soapbox for a moment, I think you are suffering as a
result of an unintended side-effect of this process.
I would suggest recording (or remembering) your ColorSync settings
and then throwing out your ColorSync and Monitors prefs and
rebooting. You will need to reposition your monitors etc but it
should forget the "smart" thing it was trying to do and give you
access to all the available profiles in each monitor window.... at
least until you starting selecting them again... but you know how I
feel about that.
