Hi Chris,

CreoScitex is the manufacture of the Trendsetter Spectrum. This device
uses the same RIP, Screening, and Imaging Engine to make plates as well
as real dot for dot halftone proofs.

This system is in production with Imation and Kodak Type II proofing
media. Dupont proofing media is in Beta and Fuji media is pre-Beta.
Stochastic screening is released with the Imation media. Color Combiner
for the simulation of spot colors while perserving the spot screens is
also available with the Imation media and Prinergy workflow. Imation
has released three color sets which are SWOP, High Density, and Euro.

Many thermal plates are certified with this system.

Using dot gain calibration alone it is possible to get a very close
match to most press work.

Would this system solve the screening difference problems you are
referring to?

Note that if you color manage this type of proofer you may loose the dot
for dot subject moiri prediction that is possible with it as it stands.
You may contaminate some of the solid colors in order to get a closer
color match.

Have you ever worked with this type of proof?

Ray
