Dot gain can (and should) be calculated as part of a profile; the question is
whether this device and its software can handle a profile on top of their
liniarization (or liniarizaton/dotgain) adjustments. Applied in the right
manner it shouln't even know it was done, and simply print the corrected data
for you.

Try walking around the Kodak booth at a big show and asking about color
management software. The last time I did this several Kodak employees told me
that they didn't sell such stuff, and a couple others didn't know if they
did. Until I came upon the ColorFlow rep, no one else had a clue. At
SeyBoldSF in September, the small number of color consultants who bothered to
attend Kodak's before-hours meeting came away feeling that Kodak had no
intentions of moving forward in any meaninful manner with color management
software.
