The Epson 5000 came with an older RIP that does not directly use ICC
profiles. There is software to convert ICC profiles into CSA's and CRD's
and then upload them to the RIP. I don't know anyone who has successfully
done this.

I've seen and measured a 50% variation on the same PAGE (50% more dense
for the same values on the bottom of the page than the top of the page),
and I've seen and measured a 60% density variation over a 24 hour period.
So it can be a LOT worse than 10%. Some copiers are more stable than
others and it almost always has to do with a combination of luck and
stable temperature + relative humidity. Toner devices have huge shifts
just due to a few percent difference in relative humidity alone.
