hm, and I was getting yelled at here and called an idiot two years ago for
proofing on newsprint with an Approval. does it not make sense to proof
newspaper jobs on newsprint if you can?
anyway, you can laminate Approval receivers to newsprint. it's smelly (hot
newsprint isn't a pleasant odor) and very jam-prone, at least in the Kodak
2-up laminator which is known in some parts as the Jaminator.
your proofing stock must be cut very square, else it tends to skew when the
laminator pulls it in. if you do want to try and laminate lightweight stocks
such as newspaper with some frequency it's probably a good idea to pay
someone to sheet it for you off a roll. trying to cut that stuff with a big
straightedge and a knife is very error-prone and the stock tears at the
slightest nick in the straightedge.
