I feel you've lost me, or rather that I can't see what you're trying to do.

So by way of winding down this thread, let's say that if you use device links at the back end, then at the front end you need to normalize all objects for the same color space and color model in order to apply the link to your PostScript, or you need an application with advanced controls that make sense of implementing device links in a production workflow. At the moment I don't think there are all that many applications with that capability.
