As newspaper-publishers we have developed an interface that will allow you
to use Photoshop through the use of "hot-folders". This is the concept:
* the interface (MAC only!) lets you define a set of hotfolders. Each
hotfolder is further defined by:
- INPUT-folder: here you drop the image-file
- ERROR-folder: non-image files will be routed to this
folder
- BACKUP-folder: storage of the original image-file
- OUTPUT-folder: storage of the processed image-file
- Photoshop action: the image is processed in Photoshop by
this action
* Photoshop action list
- In these list you program the actions for your needed
applications.
We use this concept to automate our reproduction. Image processes as
size/resolution, noise removal, kontrast enhancement, selectieve saturation,
neutral cast removal, Adaptive USM are carried out just by dropping the
image in an input-folder.
If you are interested in this concept, just send me an email.
