In the ColorWise II user interface, the calibration target is seen as a
part of the 'Output Profile'.
However, internally these are two different things, one is the calibration
target, the other is a
real ICC profile for output. Both are combined in the 'Output Profile'.
The ICC profile in the 'Output Profile' is only used, when a) Simulation is
ON, or b) RGB data is
converted.
If you choose Simulation = None, then NO ICC profile is used for output.
BUT the calibration is
still applied.I made a profile and tested it and it4s very close to the
offset print that I use as a reference.
But how did you build the profile? Are you saying that the non
simulated printer is close to the offset print? What printer? I would
think that most printers should show a much larger gamut than offset
with out the use of simulation unless you are starting with a CMYK in
offset space.
