When building an input profile in Kodak's IPB Wizard, you are given a check box that says "add contrast." I have built identical Digital camera profiles using the MacBeth color checker, both with the box checked and without. When using the "add contrast" profile the white
MacB square will record about 5 RGB units higher than with the normal profile, and the black square will record 4-5 units lower. Ask the person who made the profiles if he had that box checked. I don't know, but maybe the "add contrast" box performs somewhat of a lightness
channel autolevels adjustment. I would be interested to know if this is how that feature works.
