I'm working with a rented D-1 and trying to figure out the best way to get
it to
cooperate with PhotoShop's ColorSync workflow.
I'm assuming that I should be able to take a properly white-balanced file
from
the camera, open it in PhotoShop and convert it from a (canned,
unfortunately)
camera profile to my RGB working space. Most of the Nikon profiles I've
tried,
though, seem to have the kind of funky skin tones indicative of an incorrect
profile.
Does anyone have any experience with this particular camera and its
workflow?
Unfortunately Jeff, you have two hopes of getting satisfactory results from
a "Canned" Profile. May I suggest a profiling package such as Praxisoft's
Compass Profile Camera. You can find out more at
Http://www.praxisoft.com
Remember you will need a Gretag target and most probably a new profile for
each environment and lighting change.
At this point you can P to P in Photoshop into a more transportable RGB
format such as CM RGB, Adobe1998RGB or even better DON RGB / BRUCE RGB.
Hope this helps
