One solution many large format Epson users have found workable is the
Generations Enhanced pigment inks in 7000/9000's. Printer is less
expensive and the ink considerably more tractable.
Another solution is to dump Epson. My FJ-50 does a lovely, reproducable
job on PETG glossy film media or BPLF translucent film media, or more
traditional (if there is such a thing in the giclee world) watercolor
media, with NO metamerism. The only time I've seen such a thing is with
the semi-gloss paper, one of their cheaper media.
It's a big world out there, guys. Don't let the market leader -- who has
just recently "invented" archival printing that others have been doing for
four years -- lead you around by the nose.
Of course, if you're stuck with a 9500, c'est la vie.
