Joel once or twice mentioned how to wrestle out the famous 256, 257,
multiple 1+2 aliases under system>Colorsync profiles>display
profiles. Joel,back to you...
Just woke up...I'll see your call and raise you forty...
Anyway, I'm way behind on me list, but for what it's worth I'll do a
little cut and paste:
For OS9 and OS9.1:
...go to Extensions Manager, check that you have only one Colorsync
Control Panel active and one Colorsync extension active and the
version numbers match up. Judisciously terminate previous version
legacy files like Colorsync System Profile (2.6) etcetera. Check
actual Control Panels and Extensions folders to make sure there are
no orphans.
Then: go to Colorsync Profiles Folder>Display Profiles>and trash
alias there. Immediately restart and rebuild desktop.
Also: if you have a Colorsync Profiles Folder in your System Folder>Preferences
you should move those profiles into the System Folder>Colorsync
Profiles folder and place an alias in the System
Folder>Preferences>Colorsync Profiles Folder redirecting applications
to the one System Folder>Colorsync Profiles folder.
(Be careful you do not Replace new profiles with old ones when you do this!)
This works fine with most applications with the exception of Corel
Apps, which bomb the app if it runs into an alias there.
hope it helps...(mind you the next message I read will probably
change the thread...geez)
