monitor uniformity/ cleaning AR screens

I have a flat screen, trinitron monitor with anti reflective coating on the screen and I've had some problems eliminating very slight red\green inconsistencies\patches on my monitor screen. I've tried lots of degaussing and adjusting the convergence. The monitor and suction cups for my calibrator were being cleaned with an ammonia based glass cleaner before I realized that was not a recommended cleaning agent. We now use dry or dampened cloths. Is there a mild solvent that would be acceptable to use to clean this screen that won't hurt the AR coating? Is it possible that we've damaged the coating and that's what's causing my color uniformity problems? I know CRT's are notorious for exhibiting such irregularities--I also have large flouresent photolamps in the same room, though they're on a different line. I guess I should try moving the monitor to a different room to see if we're experiencing some magnetic effects.
