It is my understanding that there is a patent issue regarding the dual use of a handheld device, such as Spectrocam, for monitor and reflective measurements.Supposedly Spectrostar have solved this issue by removing their monitor measurement software from their offering so it will be a single use product like the Swatchbook. Even if this does not solve the issue, we all lose if Gretag's deep pockets are able to force *much* lower cost, high quality competitors out of the market through flimsy patent coverage.
