Hi All,
I need to calibrate my color work and wish I could benefit from your
experience. I am a photographer and use an Eversmart with Eversmart Scan
3.0. I already have the Profile City ICC Scan software, my monitor is a
Sony 24" W900 and I work on Mac. The outputs are both CMYK scans for
color offset printing and RGB files for Lambda prints. I use PS 6.0 but
my printing services use Photoshop 4 color management. In a recent work,
I saw that the files I had carefully prepared were out of balance when
proofed on their equipment, so I think I have to start with a good (not
necessarily very expensive) monitor profiling system, and not use the
Gamma control panel any longer. Could you give me some advice on what
tools I should narrow my choice on, as well as suggest some simple steps
towards a fully calibrated chain? For instance: is there one monitor
setting that suits both CMYK and RGB work, what color profile for which
control pannel... a basic: what settings shall I put in the ColorSync,
Monitor and Gamma Control pannel to cancel their effect prior using a
monitor calibration tool? Thanks in advance for your help or helpful
links!
