thanks for the eversmart tips, out of interest I also posted on
the Live Picture users list [which has an actual Eversmart owner]
and I've not had a good report!
We have an Eversmart inhouse which spawns a range of mindless
problems when dealing with customized profiles. PrintOpen 4.0 was our
first real step forward with profiling this particular
software-centric scanner and, as our sanner operator's experience
grew he defined his own LUTs based on Don Hutchinson's
Scanning_Guide_2000_11.pdf at
http://www.hutchcolor.com/CMS_notes.html. Now we simply assign and
convert raw scans to AdobeRGB. It increased our workflow
substantially from a scanner which can perform (even for 135mm), is
simply to maintain from a hardware standpoint, but definitely needs
some simplification software-wise in incorporating production-based
ICC standard workflow.
ps: david got the high-bit, low-bit right.
