Check Metromedia's web site mmtglobal.com section on submitting artwork for latest specs
on billboard file creation. By the way I believe they use a scitex flatbed at some of
their locations, but you may want to call them to confirm.

14" scan @ 300 dpi = 4200 pixels printed @ 10 dpi(billboard) = 35 feet

35mm scanned at 933% = 4200 pixels. effective res = 2800 lines per inch.

That said, the Hell Chromagraph 3900 can take a 35mm (is Kodachrome grainless?)

up 30x (45" @ 300 lpi = 13500 pixels) which is about 9000 lines per inch. A 35 foot

billboard using this scan would net a resolution of 32 dpi. (quite high for a billboard)
