If you please:
Epson 7000 (no RIP).
Printing PhotoShop pixel files for "fine art" display in home and office
environments.
Have printed with both MIS (6-color) and Generation 4 inks.
And I feel like I am floundering...(and going broke from the testing).
Have printed on Somerset PE, Legion PH Matte, German Etched, Concord Rag.
Can anyone shed some light on the pros/cons between these inks that will
help decide to go with one or the other?
Again, I am printing pixel files to be displayed behind UV glass in a home
or office environment. Goal is to sell a print that will last at least 20
years framed.
I have already read a lot here on the metamerism, gamut, POP!, dye v.
pigment, custom profiling, and longevity issues.
I have observed that the pigment-based inks appear to "light up" when viewed
in tungsten light. My current problem is that the GEN4 ink takes a big
shift to green when viewed in daylight.
In response to my query to mediastreet.com about the metamerism issue with
their G4 ink:

(Does that make sense to anyone?)
In conclusion:
I would most like to hear from people who have tested both inks and who have
went with one or the other -- especially the reason that most influenced his
or her choice.
I am currently printing all papers with Epson Photo Quality Ink-Jet 1440
(canned) ICC. I will buy my profiles from ProfileCity once I decide on my
ink.
Thank you in advance for any benefit of your experience.
