Xerox DC12/2045 and Fiery RIPs

I plan to do all color management BEFORE the Fiery and
keep the CM functions of the RIP in "sleep mode".

How are you planning on doing this?

A little background of my situation: I have been monitoring the
colour stability of our Xerox DC12 and 2060. I have found the 2060 to
be less than consistent by calculating the Delta-e on the daily
calibration targets. I would like to here how other printers find the
color consistency of the DC12 and 2060.

We too have found that there is a significant amount of colour variation. Xerox's specs say Delta E of 4, as calculated by measuring two points on a single sheet of paper. Therefore, this spec is for variation within a sheet, not over time, within a run, etc. I tried to get specs for sheet to sheet delta E, but no one could supply me with it.

Colour consistency is a large issue for us. We calibrate every morning, once a day, and find that colour varies noticeably throught runs, the day, and weeks. I don't have any delta E values for you. We do not have humidity/temperature controlled conditions - I am very curious about to what extent controlling these variables would ensure more consistency. Obviously, it would help. But how much?

We have a DC12 and a 2045. Both are less consistent that we, and our clients, would like. We have had jobs rejected due to differences between the proof and final run. Of course, these differences are most noticeable in light tints.
