Any solution for this?
Minoru,
I certainly do not have a solution for your hardware problem, but this might help. Your viewing conditions may be a factor in your perception of shadows. The office/room lighting should be brought down to a
reasonable level (darker is better), no direct light on the face of the monitor and no reflections. My personal preference is a desktop at 100% black. I am using Colorblind ProveIt w/Sequel puck for monitor
calibration (1.8/5000) and in combination with my work environment I can easily tell 97 from 100 or 98 from 96 etc...Of course, turn on the main light and I have a problem.
The main disappointments re deep shadows come at press time when those subtle distinctions become immaterial and reality kicks in - but that is another story.
I still like seeing them, though!
