I have had a Sony W900 from the first batch that was put on the market
more than four years ago, and although it is used pretty much, I still
have a good contrast and dark blacks. The only reproach that I would
make is the uneven color across the screen. The center is warmer than
the sides. Contrast should be set at 100% before calibrating. Maybe
you'd have to deactivate some old monitor panel or trash other software
preferences and start calibration from scratch. I use ColorCal and
PreCal to calibrate with a Spyder and it gives me good results, as far
as I can be aware. Precal allows for optimal setting of each RGB color
beam before the actual calibration takes place.

About one year ago we bought 3 Sony 24 inch monitors.
Every time I calibrate them I see that black gets grayer and grayer. It
seems
like there is too much light inside them!
And the situation is getting worse.
At the moment I have to start with contrast at 25%.
