This isn't right; sRGB has a few gamut limit issues, but within its gamut
(which is perfectly acceptable for monitor only uses like the web) its color
is just as accurate as any other reasonable space, and can be converted to
without any recorrection! Your files must not be tagged as Bruce, or not
converting properly from there to sRGB, or they would look identical in PS6
once changed to how they look in advance. PS5 is a different story.
