Thanks Henrik and Chris for your clear ideas here on my SGI conundrum. Yes,
I agree that if it's using unadulterated monitor RGB, I can make a monitor
profile using OptiCal as source, and the printer profile to separate. I'll
look more into it with SGI and Lectra.

Question for Henrik:

These files are currently sent in RGB (with HSV designations) and are
separated in-RIP blindly, with no specifically defined input or output
profiles/spaces. So the files I'll be getting exported to me will be
basically untagged RGB. So I can't use the printer profile as source and go
back to LAB, unless I'm missing something.

They currently output to an Iris, and will be outputting to Epsons, both of
which, I believe look for RGB input, and would be profiled as "RGB"
printers. But I don't think that defines their origin on the workstations,
just their destination, right?

I'l find out for sure, but it's a good guess that monitor RGB is the deal
here, and OptiCal will be my answer to define it. Thanks again.
