Guys,
One of my customers complained about his Apple Studio Display 17", those
nice G4-styled displays that you can only hook to newer G4s. The display
didn't have uniform color all over the surface, easily demonstrated by
filling the screen with white.
Calibrating the display (via its internal ColorSync calibration hardware)
didn't make a difference.
So I took it back for exchange; but in the warehouse, after opening five
of those displays, we found that all of them were more or less the same!
It's not as notorious as when a monitor is magnetized, but anyone can see
it; a smooth hue shift from one corner to the other.
So, am I an unlucky dealer who got a bad batch? is it an effect of being
near the equator? (by the way-- these ones don't have northern/southern
hemisphere differentiation codes that I know).
Or is everyone experiencing the same issues with this display?
best regards,
