I have two Apple Studio 17" monitors (with ADC connector) with only one
G4, thus one is not in use. Using gray and light blue, green and yellow
backgrounds, the color seems uniform, but now that it is mentioned the
brightness might be greater on the right although it is the same using a
light meter with 0.1 resolution (sorry no colorimeter); the upper and
lower centers were consistently 0.1 stops brighter.
I have another Apple Studio 17" question: is there any way to adapt
the ADC connector to a VGA connector. Apple tech support doesn't have a
solution. As you know, the ADC plug has two 28 V pins with 2 more for
their grounds; 18 pins for 6 channels of USB and their returns; 6 pins
for video; and assorted pins for clock and DDC with returns. There
there are 4 different blade shaped pin configurations in the plug. Most
of the blade ends are twisted. The only thing I could think of was
soldering to required pins, but then rejected this for obvious reasons.
