New Version of ColorSync?

OS 9.1 is described as including ColorSync v. 3.0.3. I dutifully downloaded
the 70MB updater file and installed it on three of my Macs running OS 9.0.4,
but my ColorSync remains at v. 3.0.1.
Is this (i) an update that was pulled at the last minute, (ii) an update
available only on the CD version of OS 9.1, or (iii) evidence of some
otherwise invisible error on my part in running the update?
And if I were to have installed v. 3.0.3, what changes would I have noticed?
